OAKLAND CITY HALL PROJECT, OAKLAND, CA |
![]() The Oakland City Hall, built in 1911, was damaged in the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. The Oakland City Hall is undergoing a major restoration and seismic upgrade, and utilizing base isolation technology for the first time in Northern California construction history. The earthquake repairs and renovations require structural repair and strengthening up to current building codes, life-safety upgrades, new mechanical and electrical systems, and historic preservation of architectural details. BDI, along with Turner Construction Company, was selected to provide the Construction Management services. The project reopened for public use in 1994. |
